Does prayer really change things???

I seen a Post on FB the other day that said "God is Almost always Almost Late!"  Love this.  He is an on time God.  No matter the situation HE holds our every moment.   Sometimes it is when we are at the very lowest moment or Depths of Despair.  At that moment is when everything can change the Impossible is Possible.  Sometimes our situation doesn't change much but Peace will come.

About a year or so ago, there was a young lady from my home town that was dying of Cancer.  I didn't know her only from EVERYONES Facebook post.  A Facebook Page was created for her called Team Tony.  This young lady had a lot of support, from many people.   Many people had their FB profile picture changed to show support, shirts were made and anything else that could be done to support her.  Even 1,000's of people stood on the side of the road and welcomed her home from  treatments that had been out of town.  In other words everyone was praying for her from Christian Grandmas to Biker Dudes.  I was praying for her 1500 miles away.  I truly believed that God could heal her and What an amazing testimony that would be, right?  It would touch and reach 1000's of people.  Well the Lord didn't heal her and she passed away not to long after, she was in her early 20's.  So So So sad, her passing broke hearts everywhere.   I struggled for a long time after that and ask God WHY?  I couldn't understand WHY he didn't take the opportunity to Heal her and receive the Glory. I believe in the Power of Prayer and always have!!  My question was, Was there power in NUMBERS of prayers?  If one more person would have prayed would it have made a difference?  The answer is NO, because God is in control when we pray "have your will Lord".  After a few months the Lord spoke to me one day when I was Listening not questioning.  He said "Sometimes Prayer doesn't change the outcome but it will change the journey".  GOOD HONK right there it was a Revelation, to me.  All those prayers did change her journey while she was here on this earth.  Think about it sometimes Prayer only changes the Journey.  That also is not a negative thought, but a profound one.  He holds our Journey in his hand.  Ultimately Heaven is our gain!  This world is not my home, I'm just passing through!!!

  2. Jamie, I agree! Toni ended up dying in peace at home, which is what she wanted. She knew she was loved and she loved the Lord. What more is there in life? I ache for her mother, but she is strong in her faith and knows that Earth is our temporary home.
